Keyboard XL Circled numbers are the pins of the keyboard-connector, with the uppermost pin as [1]. The special 'Fn' keys from the 1200XL can be added to any XL model, but may not work when using a replacement o.s.

Mount the 74ls280 on top of the 74hct640 (the SCSI linedriver from the BlackBox) as in the drawing, and you're able to run those popular SCSI harddisks which needs the parity-bit. Do NOT try to do a lo-level format on those harddisks (HDFMT.COM), as this will destroy important information on the boot-sectors of the HD. Just start creating partitions and you're done. Parity

Pokey-Chip This chip is responsible for the sound and serial I/O, and is available in all models. It also controls the paddles and takes care of the keyboard.

Pokey-Chip These are the components as found on the German IDE controller, created by msc in 1996. It's able to drive two IDE devices, like two harddisks, or a harddisk and a CD-Rom drive.
